
A native of Covington, Louisiana, Gary Higgins, Jr. graduated from Covington High School in 2002. After earning a degree in English and History, Gary went on to graduate magna cum laude from Southern University Law Center in 2014. While in law school, Gary served as a senior editor for law review, a teaching assistant in legal writing, and devoted his time volunteering with the family law division of Southeast Legal Services in Covington, Louisiana.
Gary's practice focuses on civil litigation and trial advocacy, including commercial and business disputes, personal injury matters, family law matters, and probate matters. Gary also specializes in real estate law, with over a decade of experience in residential and transactional closings. He is an owner of Provenance Title in Covington, Louisiana.
Throughout his career, Gary has been active in the community, continuing to volunteer with the Northshore Pro Bono Project and assisting with the Louisiana State Bar's Wills for Heroes Program throughout the state. Gary received the Pro Bono Publico award in 2020, and the Friend of Pro Bono award in 2023. Gary is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, and is also admitted to the federal bar for the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Louisiana.
